A First Alert Alarm Saves Lives
A correctly-installed and properly functioning First Alert® alarm, such as a smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm, saves lives. Several studies have concluded that when a First Alert® smoke alarm and a First Alert® carbon monoxide alarm are present, the chances of dying from fire or carbon monoxide poisoning is cut in half. You owe it to your family or employees to have a monitored alarm system.
A First Alert Alarm® Installed in Your Home Will Give You Peace of Mind
First Alert® Alarm System
As part of, or separate from, a home security system, you can get a First Alert® alarm system from All-Guard Systems that provides:
- 24/7 monitoring
- Fire sprinkler monitoring (if your sprinklers activate, our monitoring center is alerted)
- Heat detectors
- Smoke detectors
- Carbon monoxide detectors
Location of First Alert® Alarms in the Home
Smoke and carbon monoxide First Alert® alarms are installed normally on the ceiling or high on the wall, with the top of the alarm no closer than 4 inches, and not further than 12 inches from the ceiling. Alarms should be no closer than 3 feet from supply registers of forced air heating systems (that might blow on the alarm preventing it from detecting smoke), and no closer than 3 feet from the door to a kitchen or a bathroom containing a shower (steam can set the alarm off when the door is opened). Older adults may have difficulty reaching alarms on or near the ceiling to change batteries, so if hard-wired alarms are impractical, wall mounting 12 inches down is acceptable.
First Alert® Alarms Offered by All-Guard Systems Are State-of-the-Art Security Systems
System Monitoring
Our Central Station system monitoring service acts as an intermediary between your alarm system and the local police. If an alarm is activated, trained professional response technicians will call the subscriber’s home to verify the alarm, and upon verification notify local law enforcement or the local fire department. This is a must-have service for protecting you and your family.
We provide alarm monitoring for communities throughout the San Francisco metropolitan area and the Central Coast including Santa Maria, Hayward, Alameda, Berkeley, and other communities.
