Make Friends with your All-Guard Keypad

No doubt you use your alarm keypad every day. Every time you leave your home, you arm your alarm system, and when you get back home, the first thing you do is disarm it. But do you know the difference between “Away”, “Stay”, and “Instant” on your keypad – and do you know how to bypass the guest bedroom because your guests like to sleep with the window open?

Below is an overview of the most common commands on your keypad, there might even be some commands you didn’t know existed. If, at some point, you hit the wrong button or enter the wrong code, just press the *-button and start all over.

If you have any questions before, during, or after you try out some of the commands, please do not hesitate to contact our service department at 800.255.4273.

Remember the Code: You will be surprised to learn how many people forget their code. Anyone who has a key to your home should not only memorize the code but also know the password and how to contact All-Guard.

Arm the System: Before you arm your alarm system, always check that all windows and doors are properly closed. Enter your four-digit code and press any of the following four options:

  • Away: If you enter your four digit code and then press “Away”, motion detectors are active, windows are instantly activated, and exit/entry doors have delayed entry. This mode is recommended when nobody* will be staying inside.
  • Stay: If you enter your four digit code and then press “Stay”, as with “Away”, windows are instantly activated, exit/entry doors have delayed entry but motion detectors are now bypassed. This will allow you to freely walk around inside your home or business while the alarm system is armed. This mode is recommended when everybody will be staying inside.
  • Instant: If you enter your four digit code and then press “Instant”, as with “Stay”, windows are instantly activated, motion detectors are bypassed, but exit/entry doors have no delayed entry; they will now cause an alarm. This mode is recommended for nighttime.
  • Max: If you enter your four digit code and then press “Max”, as with “Instant”, windows are instantly activated, exit/entry doors have no delayed entry; they will now cause an alarm, but all motion detectors are now active. This mode is suitable when nobody* will be staying inside and you are able to disarm your alarm system from OUTSIDE your home, either by using your key fob or your smartphone app.

Please note that your armed alarm system will always have delayed exit – some keypads will even display how many seconds you have to safely leave your home or business without setting off the alarm.

* With pet immune sensors, you can safely arm your system even when your pets are around.

Disarm the System: Enter your four-digit code and press “Off”.

Bypass a Zone: Enter your four-digit code, press “Bypass” followed by the zone number you wish to bypass. Single-digit zone numbers are preceded by a zero, for instance 06, 07. The keypad will now display the bypass message. Enter your four-digit code and arm the system as normal.

Change the Master Code: Enter your four-digit master code, press “Code” followed by “0” then “2” (the Master Code is always 02). Enter the new four-digit code twice. When you hear a beep, the master code was successfully changed. Only the Master Code can program the keypad.

Add a New User Code: Enter your four-digit master code and press “Code”. Then enter the code number of the new user. For instance, for user 03, you will enter “0” and “3”. Then enter the new four-digit user code; please note that only the master code will allow you to add additional users.

Delete an Existing User Code: Enter your four-digit master code and press “Code”. Enter the user code, for instance 03, and enter # followed by “0”. The user number is now empty.

Cancel False Alarm: Enter your four-digit code and press “Off” to disarm the alarm, then enter your four-digit code again and press “Off” to reset the alarm.

Turn Chime On/Off: Enter your four-digit code and press “Chime” to toggle between Chime On and Chime Off. The keypad will display whether the chime is on or off.

Ready Indicator: Green light indicates the system is ready to be armed.

Armed Indicator: Red light indicates the system has been armed.

Your alarm system protects your home and family against the threat of fire and burglary – but only if you utilize it! Always arm your system, even if you’re only leaving “for a minute”; that’s often all it takes for someone to break in and ransack your home.

Some keypads require a five-digit code and/or have a different layout from the description above. Please call 800.255.4273 if your keypad does not respond correctly to the commands.
