Selecting a Residential Alarm System

Residential Alarm Systems Provide Safety and Security for Your Family

Because the safety and security of your entire family and home depend on making the right choice in selecting a residential alarm system, the choice may seem daunting. But, with some basic decision making, a little knowledge of your needs and some careful consideration, you can select the ideal residential alarm security system for your family and home with little or no stress.

All-Guard Systems Has Many Residential Alarm Systems to Choose From

Home Alarm System Considerations

  • Take into consideration how likely you are to move in the near future. If you will be moving within the next 2 to 4 years, you may consider a wireless security system that can be easily disconnected and taken to your new home. If you do not plan to move, a more permanent wired system or hybrid system may be better suited to your needs.
  • Determine how many sensors you may need and where they should go. Large homes or homes with lots of windows may require a large number of sensors. If a security system must protect several doors and windows in addition to smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, and motion sensors, a wireless system can cut down on the number of wiring and cabling required for connections.
  • Determine how much additional protection you need. In addition to typical door and window sensors, many home security systems and companies monitor fire, smoke, motion, and personal medical alarms. If you prefer this type of coverage, select a system that can accommodate these options; in addition, the security company you select must be able to monitor these devices.
  • Overall, the choice of your residential alarm system also depends on the construction of your home and our access (crawlspaces, attic space, slab construction, etc.), that can affect installation. Additionally consider other items such as window warranties – drilling into window frames will void any current warranties, if you have new windows you should opt for wireless sensors for the windows. We may need to recommend that you go with a hybrid or wireless system if a fully wired installation will be problematical based on your home’s construction.

We Have Residential Home Alarm Systems to Fit Any Budget

Evaluate Your Home Ownership Status Before Installing a System

After evaluating your home ownership status (staying or moving soon as our contracts are generally for three years), the need for wired versus wireless security systems, hybrid systems, additional features and sensors, your financial situation, and after browsing available offers and promotional deals, select the best residential alarm system from the most reputable company. We do our best to meet your home security and budget needs. It’s that easy!
